Alan George and his twin brother Phil have been involved with climbing and outdoor activities since their youth. They both studied Outdoor Education at Bangor attaining Degrees in 1984. They then pursued careers in the outdoor world working for LEA centres, national Centres and as Freelancers. Both qualified as International Mountain Guides in the 1990's.
During 2000 Alan was diagnosed with a brain tumour and his guiding and outdoor work was limited. Not one to be held back, Alan set up Georgio's Ice Cream on Llanberis High Street where they make Italian Style ice cream and have summer queues half way down the street.
Alan has been undergoing treatment for over eight years and current medical options are having limited success in fighting the problem. Alternative therapy has been beneficial and this fund aims to contribute to the financial cost of getting Al to stay at the Therapy Centre.
